Training for the Best The ‘Cognito’ concept is to promote courses and training programmes aimed specifically at filling the growing needs of Tour operators and Travel companies. It is also of interest to individuals who are keen to discover and achieve a greater understanding and knowledge of Jersey’s rich history and culture. ‘Cognito’ courses and programmes range from an Island Discovery Day to a programme of 14 specialist lectures incorporating Jersey’s historical and cultural make-up which will lead to a greater understanding of how the Island’s history has evolved through geology, inhabitants, social structure, religion, politics, trade and commerce. Training courses cover a wide range of subjects with different levels of involvement. AIM
The ideal course covering Jersey’s richly diverse history, for those who have an interest in becoming a proficient 'Host' able to demonstrate the essence of Jersey and how special an Island Jersey is to visit, explore and experience.’
‘This programme is a course of two hour evening classes every Wednesday for twelve weeks.’
‘Cognito’ students who gain passes in examinations with written papers will be rewarded by a ‘Visit Jersey’ and Jersey Hospitality Association endorsement certificate and Badge. (Optional).
Achievement and knowledge recognises the student as competent to become an effective ‘Host’ for Jersey.
